Amit Devale, Architect, Urban Design Research Institute, Mumbai
The Writing/s in Architecture course should be made a mandate in the syllabus. It has made me realise how ignorant we have been towards reading and writing in our profession. It has changed my perspective towards writing and made me realise there are various ways of writing and how we can choose from them basis our tastes and interests. It has also thrown light on the formalisation required in writing. This course has given me enough to make me think of writing as a professional and make a career out of it. Apurva has structured the course in such a beautiful way, I wish it went on for longer!
Prajakta Chakravarty, Principal Architect, Green Mango Design, and Associate Prof, SMEF Brick School of Architecture, Pune
The course was very intelligently curated. The vast and intense curriculum was broken down into smaller parts, deciphered and presented in a simple yet elaborate manner. The references and reading material were extensive and well-curated. I liked how intensive the course was, and I truly appreciate the tips, pointers and references we received in each session. I learnt a lot about formal writing, which has given me the confidence to go ahead and pursue it further.
Ruchi Raghuvanshi, Architect, Boston
Kudos for creating this well-curated course with a very interactive format for an uncharted field like architectural journalism. It provided me with much-needed background and opportunities in the field. I have been following Apurva ma’am for a long time, and this course was a great opportunity to learn from and interact with her. The theoretical aspect of the course was comprehensive. The doubts or any other issues were promptly solved by the mentor as well as the team.
Shradha Godya, Architect, Mumbai
As an experienced practitioner looking to pivot into academics, I was initially unsure if the course suited me. However, I was thrilled to see a batch of varied age groups and experience levels. The diversity, in fact helped me learn from others and offered perspective. The reading material was well curated to challenge advanced readers and spike curiosity amongst a younger audience. The course was structured well, conducted seamlessly, and encouraged participation. The assignment was the most exciting part, as it was a true test of the effectiveness of the course. Working on it really helped me subconsciously imbibe the teachings of the program. One-on-one mentorship with an esteemed instructor was very valuable and getting personalised feedback on the assignment was the icing on the cake. It really helped me evaluate my course of action and was a clear guide towards improvement.

The course was nice and well-structured. I enjoyed the focused learning through hand-picked readings. I’m looking forward to more interaction and advanced mentoring from Apurva Ma’am. The high points of the course were the points for consideration, or the guidelines laid out in the lectures, and the personal comments by the mentor to encourage us and identify our skill sets/potential.

I thought this course could give me guidance in my research paper, but it was much more than that! It was great to be part of this course and involve with Apurva ma’am – a wonderful unbiased writer and architect. I had an opportunity to understand how writings could not just be content to read but could also be a voice of the unheard, to have the power to bring out something beyond the act of thought. Through the course, I also got to meet people with varied perspectives and having a patient instructor like Apurva ma’am was a blessing. I am deeply grateful for being part of this course.

Writing/s in Architecture by Ar. Apurva Bose Dutta has been one of the best online courses I have ever attended. The lectures were interactive, and the discussions were widely engaging. Ar. Apurva has designed the course in a way, to focus on reading and writing. Apurva ma’am commented and discussed each piece the learners had come up with. Even though in online mode, personal attention to every learner and every query was remarkable. The best part of the course was the main writing assignment.
The Acedge team was also great support regardless of any issues.
Priya M Nair, Faculty Member, Measi Academy of Architecture, Chennai

I liked that the course also focussed on genres and types of publications and the kind of information needed for getting into writing, rather than just the ‘writing’ aspect of it.
Vinod Panengal, Asst Prof, SPA Bhopal
The course was nice and helped me organise myself in writing. Rather than figuring out only how to write and various aspects of it, the course helped me understand everything. The best thing was the exposure to various genres in writing and understanding their similarities and differences.
